Releasing Judgment and Cultivating Compassion in Yorùbá Spirituality
Yorùbá spirituality teaches that compassion and the release of judgment are essential to harmony and divine alignment. Guided by Ifá, Òrìṣà, and ancestral wisdom, practitioners learn to see through Orí inú (inner consciousness) and live in truth with their Ayànmọ̀ (destiny). Through Ìwà Pẹ̀lẹ́—gentle character—we dissolve judgment, embrace empathy, and walk in balance with the flow of Àṣẹ, the sacred power that unites all beings.

Ori Rere: The Blessing of a Good Head
Ori rere — the “good head” — is a Yorùbá blessing of destiny aligned with peace, virtue, and divine favor. It is cared for through good character (ìwà pẹ̀lẹ́), gentle offerings (adimú) like water, honey, or coconut, and prayer to one’s head (ẹborí). With ori rere, even hardships become lessons, guiding us toward purpose. As the elders say: “Orí rere ni ma ń jẹni lọ́lá” — a good head brings one to honor.
